I asked the Advocate a few months ago if they’d give me a few days to cover the  Warriors Weekend this year and they agreed. Warriors Weekend is an event organized by Victorians. It is a weekend full of fishing, food, ceremonies and fun for wounded soldiers from all over the USA. Over 300 wounded soldiers are being flown in yesterday and today to Houston and San Antonio. We’re going to have a big spread this Sunday but we are putting a few teasers in the paper before that for individual aspects of this event.

One of those is a salute the Boy Scouts did Wednesday at the Field of Honor. Today the soldiers will be at the field of honor for a ceremony I’ll be at later, but on Thursday the Boy Scouts stood at attention at the field as a gesture of respect for those coming this weekend.  Heres a couple photos from it.  More later!

Samuel Bonorden, 13, salutes the flags at the Field of Honor Wednesday evening. The boy scouts gathered to salute the flags as a gesture of respect to those whom the flags represent.

Sebastian Trevino, 7, runs through the flags at the Field of Honor Wednesday evening. The boy scouts gathered to salute the flags as a gesture of respect to those who the flags represent.
