Last week Ortega and I spent a morning out in Placedo for the filming of a historical documentary. Nothing more fun than horses, people dressed up in old-timey costumes and film crews to make an assignment engaging. Despite all that, the photo that really struck me after the day was this moment between one of the actors and a horses during down time in between scenes. I just really loved this affectionate moment.
Last week I got to spend some time with Mr. Fanelli and take photos of him and his horses. I love assignments like this! It was a lot of fun, and the horses were beautiful.

Fanelli will have his horses vaccinated by a veterinarian, to prevent EEE, which he does every year when mosquitoes become common, usually towards the end of April. “Everybody says ‘healthy as a horse’ but it’s not that easy,” Fanelli said, “They’re delicate.”
