Last week’s 5k was a simple run, so for this weeks run I focused on what makes this 5k different. There were a lot of activities for kids, the fun run and of course, the very very large Chick-fil-A cow. My favorite shot is the cow racing the 2-year-old to the finish line.

Cambry Newman, 2, of Corpus Christi, races the Chick-fil-a cow to the finish line during the fun run at the Chick-fil-a 5k Saturday morning in Riverside Park. Newman finished triumphantly, overtaking the cow in the last couple feet.

Danna Garland, right, gives a thumbs up to her friends cheering on the sidelines as she crosses the finish line at the Chick-fil-a 5k Saturday morning in Riverside Park.

Major Edwards, 3, reacts as he sees the snake painted on his arm in the mirror at the Chick-fil-a 5k Saturday morning in Riverside Park. The snake was painted by Carla Cantu of Flowerchild Face Painting.

Kristy Arnim and her daughter Kate Arnim, 10, sprint for the finish line together at the Chick-fil-a 5k Saturday morning in Riverside Park. It was the first 5k they ever ran together.

Cantlon Brown, 4, of Goliad, tumbles in the bounce house during the Chick-fil-a 5k Saturday morning in Riverside Park.
